The Town of Latchford will be hiring the following 3 “Summer Student Positions”.
1. Museum Attendant:
This position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:
 Working closely with the Heritage Board in overseeing the Museum;
 Provide tourists with historical information & tours of the Museum and Loggers Hall of Fame;
 Assist in maintaining displays; and
 Assist in filing and archiving historical information.
2. Public Works/Labourer:
This position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:
 Assist in park maintenance i.e. grass cutting, trimming shrubs, etc.;
 Assist the Public Works Department with various duties as assigned.
 Possession of a Drivers Licence is an asset.
3. Travel Counselor :
This position includes the following responsibilities:
 to welcome tourists in the area;
 to answer tourists’ questions and provide specific travel publications and fulfill expectations, facilities and services as they assist with travel itineraries;
 to encourage visitors to stay longer, to experience more, and to come back again;
 to provide friendly, enthusiastic, professional service to all visitors;
 to share knowledge and feelings of pride, thus encouraging visitors to experience what region has to offer;
 to create a good impression of this region through a professional image; and
 to ensure that the travel centre creates a good first impression by being organized, attractive, and well maintained.

Eligibility for the above student positions:
To be eligible for these positions you must meet the following criteria: Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusively) at the time of intake and selection; Have been registered as a full time student in the previous academic year, and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year; Be a student in a secondary, post-secondary, vocational or technical program, but not attending full-time classes during the summer work placement; Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; Be legally entitled to work according to relevant provincial legislation and regulations; and Not hold another full-time (30 or more hours) summer job.
