Roads

The Town oversees the maintenance and operation of all municipal roads, including:

• Road grading, patching, and surface repairs

• Snow plowing, sanding, and winter road safety

• Street sweeping and seasonal cleanup

• Culvert maintenance and drainage improvements

• Signage installation and maintenance

We work to ensure that roads remain safe and functional in all seasons, with particular attention to northern weather conditions and the needs of local residents.

Latchford experiences significant winter weather, and our Public Works team is prepared. Winter operations include:

• Regular snow plowing on priority routes

• Sanding and salting to improve traction

• Clearing intersections, hills, and high‑traffic areas

• Monitoring road conditions during storms

Residents can help by avoiding street parking during snow events and giving plow operators plenty of space to work safely.

Throughout the spring, summer, and fall, the Town completes a variety of maintenance activities, such as:

• Repairing potholes and road shoulders

• Sweeping streets after winter

• Managing roadside vegetation

• Inspecting and repairing culverts and drainage systems

These efforts help extend the life of our road network and improve driving conditions.

From time to time, road closures or lane reductions may be required for repairs, utility work, or capital projects. Notices will be posted on the Town’s website and social media channels to keep residents informed.

If you notice a road issue — such as potholes, drainage problems, damaged signs, or winter maintenance concerns — please contact the Town Office. Your reports help us respond quickly and maintain safe conditions for everyone.
