The Town of Latchford is committed to protecting the health, safety, and well-being of residents, businesses, and visitors. Through proactive planning and coordinated response efforts, the Town works to ensure the community is prepared for emergencies.

Emergencies can happen at any time. Being prepared helps reduce the impact on you and your family.

Be Prepared:

  • Create a household emergency plan
  • Build a 72-hour emergency kit
  • Stay informed through reliable sources
  • Know evacuation routes and community emergency procedures

The Town of Latchford has an approved Emergency Management Plan that outlines how the municipality will respond to emergencies. This plan includes:

  • Roles and responsibilities of municipal staff and emergency responders
  • Procedures for coordinating emergency response efforts
  • Communication strategies to inform the public

The plan is developed in accordance with the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.

In the event of a declared emergency, the Town activates its Emergency Control Group (ECG). The ECG is responsible for:

  • Coordinating the overall emergency response
  • Making decisions to protect life and property
  • Communicating with the public and partner agencies

Emergencies that may affect the Town of Latchford include:

Recovery is an important part of emergency management. After an emergency:

  • Follow public safety guidance before returning to affected areas
  • Access available support services and resources
  • Report damages to the appropriate authorities if required
