Financial Statements

The Town of Latchford is committed to transparency and accountability in managing public funds. Annual Financial Statements provide an overview of the Town's financial position and help residents understand how municipal funds are collected, managed, and spent.

Under the Municipal Act, 2001, municipalities are required to prepare annual audited financial statements. These statements are reviewed by an independent external auditor and prepared in accordance with public sector accounting standards.

Financial Statements generally include:

  • The Town's assets and liabilities
  • Annual revenues and expenses
  • Reserve and debt information
  • Cash flow and financial activities
  • Notes and explanations supporting the financial information

Municipal financial statements differ from household or business finances and include long-term assets such as roads, water systems, buildings, and equipment.

The Town publishes audited financial statements annually to ensure residents have access to important financial information and can stay informed about the municipality's financial health.
