Candidate Information
Individuals interested in running for municipal office are encouraged to review eligibility requirements and nomination procedures in advance of Nomination Day on August 21st, 2026 at 2 p.m.
Key Information for Candidates:
- Candidates must meet eligibility requirements under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996
- Nomination forms must be filed with the Clerk’s Office during the official nomination period
- A filing fee is required at the time of nomination
- $200 for Mayor
- $100 for Councillor
- Candidates are responsible for complying with campaign finance rules and deadlines
